Rubber Waxes

Ozone is universally recognized as a major contributor to the degradation of rubber products, even though it is present in the atmosphere at very low concentrations.  Waxes added to the rubber act by migrating to the surface where they form a thin, inert film that serves as a barrier to ozone.  The composition of the wax, in combination with the temperature, will determine the overall effectiveness to provide ozone protection.  Luxco rubber waxes are complex blends of fully refined paraffin waxes and microcrystalline wax designed to cover a broad temperature spectrum.
